NTU holds a 3-day workshop in Kitgum, Uganda, as part of a contract with UNICEF aiming at ending violence against women and children in the country

Following on a 3-day workshop in Kitgum last week, NTU International A/S, as part of the one-year contract with UNICEF to provide technical support to national ministries and districts to implement the EU-Spotlight program to end violence against women and children in Uganda, using the socio-ecological model (institutional strengthening pillar), held a second  workshop in the Kitgum District from October 20-22.

The workshop brought together 35 participants from Kitgum DLG staff (community services, health, education, planning, environment). In addition, 2 staff from implementing partner ACORD/UNWOMEN participated in the training that was co-facilitated by UNICEF.

The objective of this second workshop was to equip the district technical staff with knowledge and skills in communication for development (C4D) that they in turn would use to train the sub-county officials in integrating C4D programming into their interventions to end violence against women and children (VAW/C) in the district. The design of the training content was guided by the Communication for Development Needs Assessment that was conducted by the NTU team in August 2020.
