NTU has delivered 20 training activities on Aviation Safety under the EU-South East Asia Aviation Partnership Project

Flight Operations Inspectors Classroom and On‐the‐Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 7‐25 Oct. 2019

As part of the Framework Contract that NTU International has implemented for the last 4 years for provision of consulting and training services in support of EASA International Cooperation Activities (EASA.2016.FC12), 20 training activities have been delivered under the EU-South East Asia Aviation Partnership Project. 18 different trainers and over 380 participants have taken part from August 2019 to August 2020.

This training programme is part of a cooperation between the ICAO Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme and the EASA EU-South East Asia Aviation Partnership Project.

The work has been coordinated with EASA and COSCAP-SEA and the activities have been organised as following:

  • Regional Training Courses delivered at the ICAO Asia and Pacific Office (Bangkok) on
    • State Safety Programme (SSP),
    • Performance Based Navigation (PBN),
    • Dangerous Goods, and
    • Aerodrome Certification.
  • Inspector Courses delivered as well at the ICAO Asia and Pacific Office (Bangkok) on
    • Flight Operations Inspector Training,
    • Personnel Licensing Inspector Training,
    • Airworthiness Inspector Training,
    • Risk Based Oversight and Surveillance Workshop,
    • Integrated Training Roadmap for Inspectors Workshop, and
    • Instructor Training.
  • Bilateral Courses delivered within an ASEAN state:
    • Flight Operations Inspectors Classroom and On-the-job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Vietnam and Malaysia;
    • Dangerous Goods Inspectors Classroom and On-The-Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Brunei;
    • Personnel Licensing Inspector’s Classroom and On-The-Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Cambodia and Myanmar;
    • Airworthiness Inspector’s Classroom and On-the-Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Cambodia and Myanmar;
    • Aerodrome Inspector’s Classroom and On-the-Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Lao PDR;
    • ATM/ANS Inspectors Classroom and On-the-Job Training together with review of Handbooks and Procedures to Cambodia and Myanmar.

Given the COVID-19 crisis 3 of the trainings needed to be delivered by Video conference.

The total budget of the Specific contract was over 580 000.00 EUR.
