Support to the European Aviation Safety Agency
NTU supported the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) with the organisation of a five-day training course on the State Safety Programme (SSP) in Kiev. The SSP training was provided for our EASA project - Provision of Short-Term Experts for the implementation of the technical activities related to “WP4 – Competence development” of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia Project (EaP/CA)

NTU provided the short-term expert, who conducted the training, as well as logistical and event management for the course. Eight delegates attended the training course, two each from the National Aviation Authorities of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Armenia.

SSP training in Kiev
The training was designed to fully prepare the delegates to return to their own organisations and implement the SSP, including performing the Gap Analysis, generating the SSP document, formulating the Implementation Plan using the Building Blocks format.

The training also aimed to ensure a clear understanding of core concepts such as the SMS framework and Risk Matrix, and provide general understanding of important supporting issues such as Performance Based Regulation, safety analysis techniques and the Annex 19 SARPs on related subjects such as Safety Data and Safety Information Protection which have been strongly emphasized by ICAO and EASA.
