Shortlist:

Technical Assistance Facility to support sustainable infrastructure development, South Africa

4th of July, 2022

The project objective is to promote inclusive and sustainable development of South Africa and achieving the UN SDGs.

NTU International A/S has recently been shortlisted for another assignment directed towards the Sustainable Infrastructure Development of South Africa. We are happy to continue our work in this sector and embrace this new opportunity with great determination!

This programme will complement and strengthen the on-going national, EU-funded programmes, and those of other development partners. We will be collaborating with national infrastructure related facilities and the Presidency’s Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium of South Africa (SIDSSA). We will be also creating liaisons between EU-funded programmes, such as Infrastructure Investment Programme for South Africa (IIPSA).

The overall objective of the project is to promote inclusive and sustainable development of South Africa and achieving the SDGs. The infrastructure technical assistance facility (ITAF) will be aimed at technical assistance that contributes to efficient, effective preparation leading to the design of sustainable and financially viable infrastructure programmes that will attract appropriate investment. A key aspect of this mission will be supporting high quality evidence-based research that will result in leading infrastructure financing and technical models, being created in the South African context.

As a result, we are very much looking forward to working towards:

  • An improved policy, strategy, and regulatory framework, including the analytical evidence base for sustainable infrastructure delivery
  • Delivering enhanced capacities, training programmes and expertise resources for evidence-based planning and implementation of innovative financing strategies and environmentally friendly, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure
  • An improved coordination, planning, implementation and accountability mechanisms for infrastructure delivery and alignment with NDP and Agenda 2030.
