NTU shortlisted for EuropeAid Road Safety-Vision Zero Project in Turkey

The main purpose of the project is to provide technical assistance to Turkish National Police (TNP) Road Safety Services which contributes to the improvement of road safety conditions in Turkey in line with the EU policies and global strategies in order to diminish casualties and losses in road crashes.

The Contractor is expected to provide the following services:

  1. In-depth analysis of present conditions, legal and institutional framework and carrying out a mid-term evaluation of the Road Safety Action Plan (2011-2020) and to prepare of a strategy document related with the road safety for the period 2021-2030.
  2. Improving institutional capacity of TNP Road Safety Services via preparation of relevant road map, guidelines and manuals, draft project proposals for tacking road safety issues as well as organization of study visits to observe best practices.
  3. Improving the production and dissemination process of road crash statistics in terms of definition of statistics as well as data registry and sharing.
  4. Contributing to the capacity improvement of TNP Road Safety Services regarding the public relations, communication and advocacy strategies supported by the activities such as public informative events, dissemination of promotional and informative materials or using audio-visual tools.

The project is intended to start in May 2017, with a period of implementation of 24 months.

Maxim allocated budget for the project is 2.992.220 EUR.
