The overall objective of the project is to contribute to Egypt’s economic and social development by enhancing an integrated multimodal freight transport system and increase operational capacity at RTA through the upgrading/establishment of a new state of the art database system.
The specific objectives of this assignment are as follows:
1. To support RTA in collecting data from barges transporting freight on the River Nile in order to enable analysis and report generation from the Database System
2. To support RTA in developing data collection methods
3. To support RTA in compiling all existing data
4. To set up a software application to enable RTA to process updated information for its operations and management planning and monitoring
To enable improved information availability in order to communicate and effectively link with MoT and other stakeholders including Customs.
