Starting from April 2012 and for the next 18 months with a budget of 1 mio EUR, NTU will be providing technical assistance services and trainings in order to increase road and traffic safety in Turkey, decrease environmental pollution and improve the physical conditions of roads while diminishing the cost of road maintenance (EuropeAid/130254/D/SER/TR).
By the provision of services, NTU will seek to:
Upgrade Institutional Capacity of the Ministry of Transport
Improve coordination among ministries and relevant component authorities
Implement preventive measures in order to reduce negative effects caused by overload vehicles on road safety, environment and the country’s economics
Carry out the awareness campaigns to change attitude and behavior of the road users and stakeholders
